New STMicroelectronics Op-Amps Eliminate Post-Assembly Trimming

The TSX7 Op-Amps Offer Very High Accuracy Together with a Wide Operating Voltage and ESD Protection

STMicroelectronics has released the TSX7 series of precision 16V op amps that combine very high accuracy with a wide operating-voltage range and excellent robustness. The low input-offset voltage, Common Mode Rejection Ratio (CMRR), and temperature drift eliminate any need for trimming or calibration in the assembled circuit while ensuring consistent performance over a wide automotive-grade temperature range from -40°C to 125°C.

Click for Larger Image - New STMicroelectronics Op-Amps Eliminate Post-Assembly Trimming The new devices build on ST’s advanced 18V analog manufacturing technology and the success of its TSX5, TSX6, and TSX9 series of low-power op-amps.

The low input-bias current and the energy-efficient combination of low power consumption and gain bandwidth make the TSX7 series ideal for use in power-constrained sensor-signal-conditioning applications, while the wide supply-voltage range, stability in challenging operating conditions, and tolerance of electrostatic discharge (ESD) up to 4kV (Human Body Model) fit well in applications such as industrial equipment, building automation, medical instrumentation, LED lighting, and automotive Electronic Control Units (ECUs). In addition, the rail-to-rail input and output functionality allow the TSX7 op amps to be used for low-side and high-side current measurements without limitation.

Features of the TSX7 Op-Amps include:

  • Input offset voltage no more than 200µV at 25°C;
  • Minimum guaranteed Common Mode Rejection Ratio (CMRR) of 91dB
  • Maximum temperature drift of 2.5µV/°C ;
  • Excellent energy-efficient combination of power consumption and gain bandwidth (GBW) with maximum Icc of 850µA for 2.7MHz GBW and 9MHz GBW for Gain =10.
