The MAX489 is a Full Duplex transceiver for RS-485 and RS-422 bus communication. The MAX489 contains both a driver and receiver for the RS-485 bus together with a driver enable and receiver enable control input. The MAX489 has a reduced slew-rate to minimize EMI and to reduce reflections in long, improperly terminated cables, this allows for error-free data transmission up to 250kbps.
