In this October issue of Silicon Chip Magazine build an Arduino Based USB Electrocardiogram. This unit is ideal for medical students and fitness professionals. The unit is built on a standard size Arduino shield and connects to your laptop via a USB cable to display your own ECG waveforms. The unit features the Analog Devices AD623 Instrumentation Amplifier IC at the front-end to provide high common-mode signal rejection and high gain, ensuring accurate and reliable readings. The shield together with an Arduino Uno board as the base is housed in a solid diecast box. The monitoring software and program software is available for free on the Silicon Chip website and once completed, you will have a professional looking ECG monitoring unit.
