This month a wealth of useful technical articles for the engineer and hobbyists. Firstly, the new Vectrix Electric Motor Scooter, the first production fully battery-powered road vehicle, this great new bike runs completely on battery power and is suitable for speeds up to 100km/h as well as a range of 110km. Ideal for wizzing around town, we have a detailed look at the design and performance of this environmentally friendly motor scooter. Also this month an inside test of another "Power Saving" device, does it really work and are the claims of up to 24% power savings valid.

This month’s projects includes a replacement CDI Module for small electric motors, ideal for ride-on mowers, motorbikes, outboard motors and much more. This unit costs less then $50 to make and can be easily built with only a few parts. Also this month a new High-Accuracy Digital LC Meter, This unit is able to measure inductances from 10nH to 70mH and capacitances from 0.1pf to 800nF, the unit features a digital panel readout as well as adjustable contrast and high sampling rate. Finally a low cost dsPIC and PIC programmer for dip PIC parts, this unit only requires a few parts and includes ZIF sockets for easy part programming and removal. Also a adjustable voltage regulator for operating a CD, DVD or MP3 player from your cigarette lighter socket.
