Silicon Chip July 2010
In this month’s Silicon Chip Electronics Magazine, a look at the exciting new products available to the Boating enthusiasts, the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show featured a wide range of new products for navigation, solar power, communication and fuel economy. Also this month, a look at some of the exciting new developments with 3D TV, we look at how the images are recorded and produced for live television events.
This month’s projects include a useful 12V Intelligent Fan Controller, this simple unit monitors the temperature at 4 separate points and controls the Fans accordingly. The unit includes an easy to use Windows Program, which also indicates the temperatures at the different points as well as the fan speeds. The unit is based on the PIC18F2550 microcontroller and is easy to build and inexpensive. Also this month, a PICACE development board for easy programming and testing of your PICAXE microcontrollers. This unit provides a USB programming connection as well as a number of standard sockets for testing UHF data transmitting and receiving. A large prototype area is also included for additional IC's and output LED's etc. Finally this month, a highly professional digital potentiometer unit, this unit provides a highly accurate programmed output. The unit is easy to program with a keypad and LCD display for easy to read instructions and output values. This month includes the second part of the Dual Tracking Power Supply project, with all the assembly and testing details. All projects come complete with circuit diagram and electronic parts list.
