Silicon Chip August 2015
In the August 2015 issue of Silicon Chip Magazine, build the
revised and improved Ultra Low Distortion 200W RMS Power Amplifier.
This new design features even lower distortion than the previous designs, with
less than 0.001% typical. The unit has excellent frequency response and input sensitivity, together with excellent stability.
The new design also features LED indication for Power, Blown Fuses and also Clipping on the output.
The board size has been reduced, as well as using new state-of-the-art components, with minimal cooling requirements.
The amplifier is ideal for a wide range of applications from PA systems to sound and disco systems.
Also this month, build a Accurate Voltage/Current/Resistance Reference, for testing your
multimeter and test equipment. The unit provides reference readings to within 0.1% and
is ideal for the serviceman or technician.
Finally this month, the second part of the Driveway Monitor Project, this month includes the
construction details, as well as the test methods for both the transmitter and receiver units.
All projects come complete with circuit diagram and electronic parts list.
In this month’s articles, an interesting look at Biohacking. This looks at some of the technologies available to monitor your body in real-time, as well as being able to store that data for later monitoring and analysis. Also a look at the new Nikon P900 Digital Camera, this camera features an amazing 83x zoom together with 16.1MP images, plus full HD Video recording and WiFi for transferring files. Finally this month a look at how to check and calibrate multimeters.
