The April Issue of Silicon Chip, includes a look at the new UltraCapacitors available, these are set to revolutionize power storage and are ideal for portable appliances and electric cars. Also this month the second part of our article on Digital TV, the antenna required is covered in detail, together with the various options available.

This month’s projects include a very useful 12V charge controller for your Lead-Acid or SLA Batteries. This unit is suitable for up to 10A and includes cyclic and floating charging. Temperature compensation is included together with LED indication for Charge, Absorpion and Float cycles. The unit is solidly constructed and is suitable for long life operation, the unit is designed to work from a 240Vac supply. Also this month a safe flash trigger for an external electronic flash, protect your digital SLR camera, with this safe triggering device. Included also is the second part of the 12-24V DC Motor Speed Controller project, then month we cover the construction and testing of this unit. Finally, this month a Two-Way Stereo Adapter for use when there is no available headphone socket on your stereo unit.
